The Analog Life Project

An exploration of living more deliberately offline—through making, noticing, writing, and human connection.

The Analog Life Project

The Analog Life Project is a free, year-long invitation to step away from constant screens, unplug from the noise, and explore a more intentional, analog way of living.

How The Analog Life Project Works

Essays

Each month I'll be posting on the blog and on Substack. These posts will chronicle my own desire to "go analog" this year. I'll include interviews and guest posts by my creative friends, all designed to inspire you to notice, create, and remember what matters.

Community

This project is an invitation to slow down, unplug, and reconnect with your offline life—while gathering in a small, like-minded Substack community. Joining Substack isn't necessary to participate but Substack is where you'll be able to comment and share your own thoughts and ideas.

Printable Freebies

Each month I'll offer printable PDFs that explore how we might adopt a practice of presence—writing letters, making things by hand, journaling. This might include worksheets, journaling pages, postcards, recipe cards— anything that encourages a more intentional way of living.

Pen Pal Club Coming Soon!

So many of you have asked about including a Pen Pal component to the project and I think that's a great idea!

I'm having a blast designing some brand new letter writing kits, including old school stationery, cute envelope seals, stickers and more— made just for this project. I think you're going to love it.

Why Create The Analog Life Project?

I’m old enough to remember life before computers, smartphones, social media, and now AI. I grew up with shoeboxes of photographs and letters — real tangible memories I can hold in my hand.

Over the last few years, I’ve noticed how much of my life has moved online and I miss the parts of being human that happen offline. It's more than a desire to reclaim my attention span, I want to experience my life in real time, not swallowed up by scrolling or lost inside a screen. I want to remember what it means to be fully human.

Nothing! It's free!

That being said, it takes a lot of work to offer this project for free! I would love it if you would consider shopping small and supporting our little shop. We love stationery, stickers, washi tape, and all the analog paper lover's favorite supplies.

Each month's essay/blog post and printable PDF worksheets are delivered monthly via substack and the blog here on this website.

This project is about exploring how to balance our online and offline worlds. This is not about denouncing technology but more about growing a robust and meaningful life away from screens. How you balance this is up to you!

Each post will be posted here on this blog and also on substack where comments and conversation is available.
